Sanibel Island is a hidden gem in Florida with breathtaking white sand beaches, plenty of outdoor activities, and it is easy to get around the island. It is quiet and secluded and there are multiple attractions to explore. If you plan on traveling to Sanibel Island we can help you find your ideal vacation condo with the amenities you are looking for. We also can provide you with information about the island and answer any questions you may have about traveling here and the best things to do.

  • What if we arrive after the office is closed?

    Check-in is at 4:00pm. After 4:00, you can go directly to your unit and use the code found in the happy stays application to unlock the door. If you cannot find the code or need assistance finding the unit, please call our after-hours answering service at 941-782-1559. Should you need anything additional, our on-site staff will be available from 9am-5pm daily.

  • What is provided in the unit?

    Each unit will be fully equipped to prepare all meals within the condo. There is a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and garbage disposal in each unit. All cookware, dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, and silverware are provided.

    To get you settled, each unit includes a complimentary starter pack:

    Kitchen:
    •Dish soap
    •Sponge
    •2 dishwasher pods
    •2 laundry pods

    Bathroom:
    •Toilet paper
    •Shampoo
    •Conditioner
    •Body wash
    •Lotion
    •Makeup wipes

    Starter supplies are not replenished during your stay.

    Sheets and towels are provided, including towels for the beach.

    Each condo has a drying rack on the lanai for swimsuits and towels and beach chairs are provided to take to the beach.

    Many condos provide extras such as coolers, fishing gear, umbrellas, books, games and DVD’s.

  • Do the units come with coffee makers?

    Coffee makers vary by unit and coffee must be provided by the guest.

  • Are towels and linens provided?

    Towels and sheets are provided for your stay. Guests are responsible for laundering during their stay

  • Do the units have washers and dryers?

    Some of the condos at Sandalfoot have a washer and dryer in the unit. This will be stated in the unit description. You can also inquire about these units with the office staff.

    Guests also have access to the community laundry rooms located on the 2nd floor of each building next to the elevators and are free of charge.

    Each unit includes 2 complimentary laundry pods. Additional pods are available upon request at the front office

  • Are beach amenities provided?

    The following is provided for each unit:

    Beach chairs:
    • 4 chairs in two‑bedroom units
    • 2 chairs in one‑bedroom units

    • Beach towels provided

    • 1 beach umbrella per unit

    Please rinse and return all beach equipment to the condo after use. Sanibel ordinances prohibit leaving chairs or umbrellas on the beach overnight. There is a water hose to rinse the chairs on the boardwalk.

    If any beach equipment is damaged, please notify the front office for replacement.

  • Do the units have Wi‑Fi?

    • Complimentary Wi‑Fi is available in all units, Check your electronic guidebook for your wifi information.
    • Pool‑area Wi‑Fi access is also available with the provided password

  • Do the units come with AC and fans?

    • All condos have central air conditioning and heat
    • Most units include ceiling fans

  • Is parking available?

    Each unit has one designated parking spot. Additional cars or guests should park only in designated guest parking spaces.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Guests are not allowed to bring pets with the exception of pre-approved service animals. Owners, while staying in their unit, are allowed to have their pets on the property.

  • Is smoking permitted?

    Sandalfoot is a smoke-free property. No smoking is allowed in the units or on the lanais or building walkways, nor by the pool. Smoking is allowed only on the grassy areas away from the buildings. Sanibel ordinance does not prohibit smoking at the beach.

  • Pool Information

    • Pool hours: Dawn to Dusk
    • No lifeguard on duty at the pool or beach
    • Pool floats are permitted if they do not disturb other guests
    • Limited pool umbrellas available on a first‑come, first‑served basis

  • Are there grills available?

    There are three propane gas grills available for guest use on the grounds. They are maintained by our maintenance team and available on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Grilling tools are available in each unit.

  • What is the resort layout?

    • 5 buildings total
    • 3 floors per building
    • A community pool is located in the center of the property

  • How are the units arranged?

    • First number (1–5): Building number
    • Letter (A–D): Unit location • A & D = End units • B & C = Center units
    • Last number (1–3): Floor number

    Example: Unit 2A1 = Building 2, end unit, 1st floor

  • Do the buildings have elevators?

    Each building is equipped with an elevator for guest convenience.
    If you have mobility issues we recommend selecting a ground unit for ease of use.

  • Can i have my packages delivard to Sandalfoot?

    • The office can accept deliveries during business hours only
    • Sandalfoot is not responsible for packages left outside after hours

  • Are golf carts available to rent?

    Golf cart rentals are available throughout Sanibel Island.

    Please park carts in your assigned parking space or designated guest parking

  • Does Sandalfoot rent bicycles?

    Sandalfoot does not provide bicycles.

    Several local companies offer rentals. Billy’s Rentals (239) 472-5248 delivers and picks up bicycles on Sanibel Island.

  • How do you get to Sandalfoot? What is the closest airport?

    Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is the closest airport to Sanibel Island and Sandalfoot Resort.

    Driving Directions from RSW:
    • Take Alico Road to I‑75 North
    • Exit at Daniels Parkway West
    • Turn left onto Six Mile Cypress Parkway (road becomes Summerlin Road)
    • Merge left toward Sanibel Island and continue straight
    • Cross the Sanibel Causeway ($6 toll)
    • Continue straight through the four‑way stop
    • Turn left onto East Gulf Drive
    • Sandalfoot Resort is approximately ½ mile down on the right (beachside)

  • Where are the restaurants and stores on Sanibel?

    Most of the Sanibel Island restaurants and shopping centers are on Periwinkle Way, which is the main east-west road through Sanibel. Of our East End neighbors, we recommend breakfast at the Lighthouse Café or the grouper sandwich at Gramma Dot’s/Sanibel Marina.

  • What is there to do on Sanibel Island?

    Sanibel boasts the perfect combination of beautiful beaches and an endless supply of engaging things to see and do. In addition to the miles of beaches, Sanibel has 24 miles of paved bike paths. There are two golf courses, a number of boat excursions, fishing charters, and kayak and paddleboard rentals available on the island. Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge, the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum, the Historical Village, Captiva Village, and CROW Wildlife Refuge are open to the public. Have we mentioned shelling? Junonia? Lions Paw? Baby’s Ear? All have been found while shelling between Sandalfoot and the Sanibel Island Lighthouse and Sanibel Fishing Pier!
