The ever-popular “Ding” Darling Wildlife Refuge will host its annual “Ding Days” from October 18th until October 24th. This Sanibel Island tradition kicks off its 26th anniversary event with a Free Family Fun Day on Sunday, October 18th. This family friendly day will feature free narrated refuge tram tours, live wildlife presentations, nature craft activities, a touch tank, a butterfly house and archery lessons.
A very special presentation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and feature Heather Henson, the youngest of Jim Henson’s five children, and her Ibex Puppetry company. Ibex is devoted to the health and healing of the planet through artistic spectacle. Her presentation, entitled Wild Puppets!, will use life-sized puppets to portray endangered species and other refuge animals.
Be sure to take advantage of live butterfly and live snakes (yes, snakes!) presentations, and other native wildlife presentations.
